Uploading a resume on Upwork is a straightforward process. Since Upwork is a platform that connects freelancers with people looking for their services, it doesn’t necessarily require a traditional resume. Instead, you have a profile where you list your skills, experience, and portfolio. However, uploading your resume can still be helpful for potential clients who are looking for more information about your background.
Steps to Upload your Resume on Upwork
1. Navigate to your Profile Page:
First, ensure you are logged into your Upwork account. Then click on Find Work then Profile on the menu located at the top of your screen.
2. Click ‘edit’ on your Overview Section:
This will open an interactive text box where you can add information to your profile.
3. Add your Resume:
Click on the Add Portfolio button, which is located under your overview and above your specialized profiles. From there, you can upload a file.
Please be aware that your file must be a .doc, .docx, .pdf, .xls, xlsx, .txt, .rtf, .jpg, or .png format, and it may not exceed 25MB in size.
4. Save your Changes:
Always remember to save your changes once you’ve uploaded your resume and added any necessary information. To do this, simply click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
