Deleting Your Upwork Account

As an experienced freelancer, I can guide you through the process of deleting your Upwork account. However, please note that once you delete your Upwork account, all your profile information, proposals, and other activities will be permanently lost.

Steps to delete your Upwork account

• First, log in to your account on the Upwork website.
• Once logged in, click the ‘Profile’ icon at the top-right corner of the page.
• From the dropdown menu, click on ‘Settings’.
• On the Settings page, click on the ‘Contact Info’ tab.
• Scroll down to the ‘User Info’ section and click on the ‘Close my account’ option found at the very bottom of the page.
• You will be asked to give a reason for leaving. Once you have selected your reason, click ‘Continue’.
• If you’re sure about closing your account, click on the ‘Close my account’ confirmation button.

Note

If you are a part of an agency or you are the owner of an agency, you will not be able to delete your account until you have closed the agency or removed yourself from it. In the case of financial transactions that have not been resolved, you will also need to resolve these before your account can be deleted.
