Transferring Payment from Upwork to PayPal

Payment Transfer Period

The first time you withdraw funds from Upwork to PayPal, it can take up to five days for PayPal to verify and accept your transfer. After the initial transaction, however, future transfers typically get processed and appear in your PayPal account within two hours.

Steps to Initiate Transfer

• Firstly, complete your identity verification. Without this, the withdrawal may not process.
• Go to the section ‘Settings’.
• Select ‘Get Paid’.
• Choose the payment method ’PayPal’.
• Click on ‘Set Up’.
• Ensure the email address provided matches with your PayPal one.
• Click ‘Next’ and then ‘Done’.

Extra Charges

Paypal does not charge any fees for transferring money from Upwork. However, they may apply charges when the amount is further transferred from PayPal to a bank account.
