How to Use Upwork Desktop Time Tracking App?
The Upwork Time Tracker is a very intuitive and handy tool for freelancers to keep track of their work hours. It not only makes it easier for you to log your working hours but also lends a certain level of transparency to your clients, assuring them about the number of hours you have actually put into their project.
Steps to Use Upwork Desktop Time Tracking App
Step 1: Download and Install the App
- Go to your Upwork profile
- Click on Resources and select Upwork Desktop App
- Follow the guided instructions to download and install
Step 2: Log In
- Open the app and log in with your Upwork credentials
Step 3: Select a Contract
- Click on the contract related to the task you’re about to begin
Step 4: Start working and Tracking
- Before you begin working, write a memo describing the task you’re about to start. This memo will be visible to your client
- Click on the Start button when you’re ready to work. The app will take screenshots at random six times per hour as proof of work
Step 5: Stop tracking when done
- Once you’re done working, click the Stop button
Note:
- If you’re not okay with any screenshot taken, you can delete it, but it will also delete the 10 minute segment associated with that screenshot.
- Don’t forget to stop the tracker when you are taking a break or done for the day, as the app will continue to take screenshots and log your time until manually stopped.
