How to Submit Work on Upwork
Submitting work on Upwork is a straightforward process. Once you have completed your assignment, it’s very important to correctly submit your work to the client. This can affect not only your current job but also your reputation on the platform. Let’s go through the steps:
Step 1: Navigate to your active contract
You need to open your active contract. Click on the ‘My Jobs’ tab located on the right-hand side of the Upwork top menu, and select ‘Contracts’.
Step 2: Submit Work / Request Payment
Now you will be on the contract page, locate and click on the green ‘Submit Work / Request Payment’ button.
Fixed Price Contracts
- Work Deliverables: Add an attachment, or input a URL (if your work is webpage design, a blog post, etc.)
- Note to the client: Type a brief message to your client. For example, you can describe the files you’ve uploaded or any other information they should know.
Hourly Contracts
For hourly contracts, Upwork Desktop App automatically uploads your work diary. Make sure your Automatic billing cycle is on.
Step 3: Confirm Submission
After you have added your Work Deliverables and the Note to the client, you can confirm your submission by clicking on the green ‘Submit Work / Request Payment’ button again.
