Why Report Someone?

If a user violates the Upwork’s terms of service and guidelines, then it becomes necessary to report them to the Upwork team for appropriate action.

How to Report a Job or Client

  • Go to the job post that you find suspicious or that violates Upwork’s terms.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Here, you will see a ‘Flag as inappropriate‘ link.
  • Click on the link to submit a report. Select your reason for reporting the job from the options provided.
  • Click on the ‘Submit‘ button.

It is worthwhile noting that Upwork reviews each report on a case-by-case basis.

How to Report a Message

  • Go to the message you want to report.
  • Click on the three dots (ellipsis) in the top right corner of the message box.
  • Select ‘Flag as inappropriate‘ from the options.
  • Choose a reason for reporting the message from the list and then click on ‘Submit‘.

After Submitting a Report

After reporting a user, Upwork’s security team will review your report and take the necessary actions. Please note that for privacy reasons, Upwork may not disclose the result of their investigation.
