Reporting a Client on Upwork

Introduction

Firstly, I want to assure you that Upwork has policies in place to protect its freelancers. However, there may be situations where you might need to report a client. Let’s break it down in the following steps:

Steps to Report a Client on Upwork

1. Navigate to the Contract Page

Find the name of the client you wish to report under ‘My Jobs’ tab and click on it. This will direct you to the ‘Contract Room’.

2. Reporting from the Contract Room

On the top-right corner of the Contract Room, there is an option entitled ‘More’. Once you click on that, a dropdown menu appears.

  • Report: This is the option you should select to proceed with reporting the client.

3. Filling Out the Report

After clicking ‘Report’, you will be directed to a page where you need to detail your complaint.

  • Problem Category: Here you will select the problem category from the dropdown menu.
  • Description: This is where you need to provide as much detail as possible to support your complaint.

4. Submitting The Report

After filling in all the necessary information, click on the ‘Submit’ button to finally lodge your complaint.

Conclusion

Remember, being professional in your dealings is always key. Always try to resolve issues first before reporting. If all fails, Upwork has a support system that is more than ready to assist where needed.
