Note: The nature of how Upwork works doesn’t allow you to hide your work history. This is because your work history is a key part of your Freelancer profile which clients look at when deciding whether to hire you.

Why Your Work History is Important

• Relevant Experience: Your work history shows potential clients the kind of work you have done in the past, which is vital in showcasing your relevant experience.
• Success Rate: Your past jobs and ratings portray your success rate, and thus, your reliability as a freelancer.
• Transparency: Transparency is essential on platforms like Upwork. Complete work history helps maintain clear communication between freelancers and clients.

What You Can Control

While you can’t hide your work history, you can control other aspects of your profile visibility. You can set your profile to:

• Public: This means anyone, even those outside Upwork, can see your full profile.
• Upwork Users: Only logged in Upwork users can see your full profile.
• Only Upwork Clients: Only clients on Upwork can find your profile in a search.
• Private: Only clients you have applied to or worked with before can see your profile.

How to Change Your Profile Visibility

1. Login to your Upwork account.
2. Click the Profile Settings under your profile icon on the top-right of the screen.
3. Scroll down to the “Profile Settings” section and select your visibility option from the drop-down menu next to “Profile Visibility.”
4. Click “Save.”
