Upwork has changed its policies regarding the issuance of free connects over the years. Unfortunately, under the current system, freelancers no longer receive free connects each month like they did before. Here is a guide on how you might still receive free connects:

1. Upwork Freelancer Plus Subscription

Subscribing to Upwork Freelancer Plus costs $14.99 per month, but it provides a range of benefits, which includes 70 free connects every month.

2. Complete the Upwork Readiness Test

Once you’ve become an active Upwork freelancer, you can complete the Upwork Readiness Test to earn 40 free connects. You can retake the test after 90 days to earn more connects.

3. Win an Interview

If a client requests to interview you and you accept, you’re refunded the connects you spent to submit the proposal.

4. Rising Talent

Strong>‘Rising Talent’ members receive 30 free connects. This status is given to new freelancers who show strong potential.

5. Achieve Top Rated Status

Top Rated freelancers and Top Rated Plus freelancers receive a bonus of free connects.
