Steps to delete your Upwork profile

Deleting your profile on Upwork is simple and straightforward. Please follow the steps below. Mind that once the action is taken, it can’t be undone.

Log in to your account

To start, you need to be logged in to your account. If you’re already logged in, you can proceed to the next step.

Navigate to the Settings Page

After logging in, you can navigate to the “Settings” page located on the dropdown available on the top-right corner of your dashboard page, under your profile photo.

Close My Account

On your Settings page, scroll down and there you will see “User Profile Settings”. Click on “Close My Account“.

Confirmation and Reason for leaving

After clicking on “Close My Account“, the site will ask you for a confirmation if you’re really sure to delete your account. Furthermore, they will ask the reason for your leaving.

Final Step

After filling in your reason for leaving, click “Continue” or “Close my Account” to finally deactivate your account.

Additional Notes:

• Remember you will not be able to restore your account after deletion.
• Be sure to withdraw all your funds before deleting your account.
• Notify your clients (if any) about your upcoming deactivation to prevent any misunderstanding.

If you need to create a new account in the future, you’re allowed to do so. But remember, your history and reviews from your previous account will not be transferred.
