Contacting Freelancers on Upwork

As a new freelancer on Upwork, it’s important to know that you generally won’t need to contact other freelancers. Instead, clients will contact you in response to your proposals. However, if you do find yourself needing to contact fellow freelancers, here’s how:

Community Forums

Upwork has a strong community forum where freelancers can interact and share their expertise. It’s also a great place to ask questions and get advice from those who have been freelancing for a longer period.

How to Use Community Forums:

You simply need to log into your account and click on the ‘Community’ tab. You’ll find a wealth of forum threads where you can comment and network with other freelancers.

Collaboration Tools

For work collaborations, Upwork provides a tool known as ‘Agency’. With an agency, a group of freelancers can work together on larger projects. Through the agency chat room, you can directly contact other freelancers in your group.

How to Use Agency:

• Create an agency: Log in to your account, go to settings, click on ‘My Teams’, and then select ‘Create New Agency’.
• Invite other freelancers: Once you’ve set up your agency, you can invite other freelancers to join. You’ll need their email addresses.
• Collaborate: You can use the agency’s chat room to communicate directly with your new team members.
