How to Withdraw a Proposal on Upwork

As a freelance professional, you’ll at times find it necessary to withdraw a proposal you submitted on Upwork. This could be due to various reasons such as getting another project or lack of interest in the project. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to withdraw a proposal on Upwork:
Steps to Withdrawing a Proposal
- Log into Your Account: Access the Upwork website and sign in using your credentials.
- Go to the ‘Find Work’ Section: Once logged in, you will need to navigate to the ‘Find Work’ section which is often located at the upper section of the dashboard.
- Open ‘Active Proposals’: In this section, you’ll find a section labeled ‘Proposals’, click on it and a dropdown menu will appear, click on ‘Active Proposals’.
- Select the Specific Proposal: In the list of active proposals, find and click the specific proposal you want to withdraw.
- Withdraw the Proposal: After opening the proposal, you’ll find a ‘Withdraw’ button at the lower section of the page. Click on it.
Things to Note
- Once you withdraw a proposal, you can’t undo the action.
- The client will not be notified when you withdraw a proposal.
- Withdrawing a proposal does not affect your Job Success Score.
- You will receive back any Connects used for the proposal unless the client viewed your proposal before you withdrew it.
