Upwork skills tests are no longer available on the platform since July 2019 as they have moved towards other means to allow freelancers to showcase their abilities. However, I will guide you on how it used to work for clarity.

Back then, after you took an Upwork skill test, you were allowed to retake it after three months in case you were not satisfied with your score.

Having a high score on a test can make your profile more reliable and attractive to potential clients, improving your chances of securing contracts.

Improving your Upwork Profile

Even though Upwork Skills tests are phased out now, there are several other ways to improve your profile and attract good projects:

• Profile Completeness: Your profile should be 100% complete with all sections filled out. This includes a clear, concise summary, details about your experience, and examples of your work if available.
• Exams and Certifications: If you have certifications from other platforms or online courses, don’t hesitate to include those on your profile.
• Work Samples: Including work samples in your portfolio is a great way to showcase your skills and previous work experience.

The process on Upwork might feel daunting at first, but with persistent effort and commitent, you will be able to build up a strong profile and land great projects.
