At Upwork, there are several methods of payment available for freelancers. You can choose the one that best suits your preferences and circumstances.

Weekly Payments

Direct to U.S. Bank (ACH)
For freelancers based in the U.S., Upwork offers direct automated clearing house (ACH) transfers. The money will automatically get deposited into your bank account each week.Direct to Local Bank
If you live outside of the U.S., you can have your earnings transferred directly to your local bank account in your country’s currency.

Other Payment Options

Payoneer
Upwork allows you to get paid through Payoneer. It’s a reliable digital platform that offers cross-border transactions in over 150 local currencies.Paypal
Another option is to receive payments via PayPal. You can easily transfer your Upwork earnings to your PayPal account.Wire Transfer

Important Considerations

  • Upwork applies a service fee of 20% for the first $500 billed with a client, 10% for lifetime billings with the client between $500.01 and $10,000, and 5% for lifetime billings with the client that exceed $10,000.
  • You are required to wait for a five-day security period before you can withdraw payments.
