Earning on Upwork

You earn on Upwork by successfully completing projects. Once the job is finished and your client is satisfied, they release the payment held in escrow to your Upwork account. The money appears in your ‘available balance’ on the ‘Reports’ page.

Note: Upwork takes a percentage fee, which reduces as you earn more with the same client.

Withdrawing Your Funds

You can withdraw funds from Upwork through the “Get Paid” button which is available on your account homepage. Once you click on “Get Paid”, you can select your preferred method of payment and the amount of money you wish to withdraw.

Note: There’s a minimum amount for withdrawal which differs depending on your chosen payment method.

Setting an Automatic Payment Schedule

You also have an option to set automatic payment schedules, which can be set up to once per month, twice a month, or weekly, depending on your preferences.

Security

For security purposes, Upwork will often require that you verify your payment method before your first withdrawal. Remember, communication is key. Always discuss the payment terms with your client before beginning any project. Working through Upwork ensures you’re protected and guaranteed pay for your work.
