Changing Your Location On Upwork

First, it’s important to understand that Upwork utilizes your IP address in order to determine your geographical location. Therefore, updating or changing your location might not be as simple as editing your profile. However, if your location has been registered incorrectly or you have moved, you can perform the steps below to change your location:

Steps to Follow

1. Log into your Upwork account: Ensure you’re at the main dashboard.
2. Go to ‘Settings’: You can find this on the dropdown menu that appears when you click on the circle (Your Profile Picture) at the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Click on ‘Contact Info’: This can be found on the left-side menu.
4. Edit Location Details: Within the ‘Location’ box, click the pencil/edit icon to adjust your location details. Input the new location here.
5. Save Changes: Confirm the new location information by clicking ‘Save’ at the bottom.
