Processing Time-frames

Typically, Upwork’s payment process can take between 5 to 7 business days. This time-frame depends largely on the method of payment that you have chosen.

For Hourly Jobs

• After the billing period ends, funds may take up to 5 days to be available for withdrawal.
• It is to ensure the client is satisfied with the work and can review the time logged.

For Fixed-Price Jobs

• The payment process typically starts after the client approves the submitted work.
• After approval, it takes 5 days security period before the funds become available.

Withdrawal Processing Times

Once funds are available, the withdrawal processing times varies per each method:

• Direct to U.S. Bank (ACH): 1 business day.
• Wire Transfer: Around 3 business days.
• Payoneer: Instant to 2 hours.
• PayPal: Within 1 business day.

Please be aware, business days do not include weekends or holidays. Also, bear in mind that internationally, holidays vary from country to country.

The purpose of the 5-day security period is to protect both freelancers and clients. This gives both parties sufficient time to communicate and resolve any potential issues.
