Reasons to Set Your Profile to Public

Having a public profile on Upwork allows more potential clients to view your profile. If your profile is set to private, only Upwork users you have connected with can view your portfolio and skills. Therefore, if you are looking to expand your reach, it is advised to set your profile to public.

Steps to Set Your Profile to Public

1. Login to your Upwork account:
   Enter your username and password, and click on the ‘Log In’ button.
2. Navigate to the ‘Settings’ section:
   Once logged in, move to the toolbar located at the top of the homepage. In this toolbar, you will find the settings option. Click on it.
3. Select ‘Profile Settings’:
   After you click on ‘Settings’, you will view different settings. Under the ‘User Settings’ category on the left, click on ‘My Info’.
4. Set Visibility to Public:
   Scroll down to the Visibility section. There will be a few options available: “Public”, “Only show to Upwork Users” and “Private”. Select ‘Public’.
5. Save settings:
   After completing all the steps above, remember to hit ‘Save’. This guarantees that all changes made are kept and implemented.

Note: Setting your profile to public means anyone on the internet can view your profile, not just Upwork users. Remember to present only the information you want publicly available!
