Per Upwork’s Terms of Service, each individual freelancer may only have one account on Upwork. Holding multiple freelancer accounts is a direct violation of these terms.

Potential Account Variations

That being said, it’s possible to be associated with multiple entities within Upwork. Here’s how:

• Freelancer Account: You may have this one personal account as a freelancer.
• Agency Account: If you are a part of an agency, you can be linked to this agency’s account, separate from your personal freelancer account.
• Client Account: Additionally, you can create a client account for hiring freelancers, which is separate from your account as a freelancer.

Remember each account type is for a specific purpose and should not be used as a secondary freelancer account.

Consequences of Multiple Freelancer Accounts

If you are found to have more than one freelancer account, Upwork will likely suspend or deactivate your accounts without prior notice. This action is taken to ensure fair opportunities for all members and maintain trust in the community.
