How to Remove Feedback on Upwork
Upwork doesn’t directly allow the removal of either freelancer or client feedback from the job contract after it is publicly posted. However, there are two ways to make it less impacting.
Ability to hide the feedback
Top Rated Status
If you are classified as a ‘Top Rated’ freelancer on Upwork, you have the ability to implement the ‘Top Rated Plus’ perk in order to remove feedback from your job success score (JSS) and hide it from your work history. However, this is only applicable once for every 10 jobs you complete or after every three months. Here are the main steps:
- Step One: Go to ‘Find Work’
- Step Two: Choose ‘Profile’ from the dropdown
- Step Three: Click the green checkmark near ‘Top Rated’
- Step Four: Find the section named ‘Perks’
- Step Five: Click the button ‘Remove feedback’
FeedbackChanged or Removed by Client
There’s another possibility – your client can modify or delete the feedback they left within 14 days from the time they initially left it. This is only possible though if the contract hasn’t been closed for more than 14 days.
Work on a Positive Rating
Remember, one negative feedback doesn’t have to impact your freelancing career on Upwork. Keep delivering quality work, maintain a professional attitude, and remember to over-communicate with your clients to avoid any misunderstandings. Consistently high ratings from future clients will overshadow the one negative feedback in no time. Happy freelancing!
