Steps to Hide your Location on Upwork

Introduction

Unfortunately, Upwork does not have a feature that allows you to completely hide your location on your profile. As Upwork is a platform which believes in transparency to foster trust among its community, they encourage freelancers to display true and accurate information. However, you could potentially display just your country, instead of a specific location or city.

Instructions

Note:
Please follow these instructions carefully.

• Log into your Upwork account.
• From your main dashboard, click on the Profile Settings option under the My Profile section.
• In the Location section, you will see your current location. Click the Edit option next to it.
• In the drop-down menu, select your country name and leave the city or specific location blank. This way, only your country will be displayed in your profile.
• Click Save to finalize the changes.

Please Note:

The changes made to your location will only apply to your freelancer profile. Your client-side profile may still display your full location settings. Furthermore, always adhere to Upwork’s policy about providing truthful information.
