As a freelancer, it is important to recall, you generally cannot post jobs on Upwork. The platform is designed for you to respond to jobs posted by clients. But if you wish to hire other freelancers to assist with your projects, you can open a client account separately. Here’s how:

Step 1: Create a Client Account

  • Visit “Settings” and click on “My Teams.”
  • Next, choose “Create a new account.”
  • Select your account type as “I want to hire a freelancer.”

Step 2: Post a Job

  • After setting up your client account, go to “Jobs” and click “Post a Job”.
  • Tailor the job post based on your project details — the title, description, skills required etc.
  • When ready, click “Post Job”.

Note

Remember, this separate client account would be something different from your freelancer account. You need to switch between the two accounts to manage your posts and bids respectively.

Additional Tip:

To improve your chances of finding the right freelancer on your posted job, be as specific and detailed as possible in the job description. This helps to attract experts who are highly skilled in the relevant field.
