How to Get More Connects on Upwork

Introduction

You primarily get more connects on Upwork through purchasing them or upgrading your membership to Upwork Plus. Previously, freelancers could earn free connects by completing their profile, passing skill tests, or after each successful job. However, these features significantly changed in May 2019.

Purchasing Connects

You can purchase additional connects when you need them as follows:

• Navigate to the Settings section of your Upwork account.
• Click Memberships & Connects.
• Click Add More Connects.
• Choose the number of connects you want to purchase and click Buy Connects.

Each connect costs USD $0.15 and you can buy them in bundles of 10, 20, 40, 60, and 80.

Upwork Plus Membership

An alternative way of gaining more connects is by upgrading your membership to Upwork Plus. This costs USD $14.99/month and includes benefits like:

• 70 Connects each month
• Being able to roll over your unused connects to the next month (up to 140)
• Keeping your profile active even if you’ve been inactive for more than 30 days
• Seeing the high, low and average bids on any job
