Follow these steps to permanently close your Upwork account:

Step 1: Login

• First, you need to login to your Upwork account using your credentials. Remember, only you have power to delete your account, ensure you have the correct login details before proceeding.

Step 2: Navigate to Settings

• Once logged in, navigate to the Settings section in the top right corner of your homepage.

Step 3: User settings

• Under Settings, find and click on User Settings.

Step 4: Account deletion

• Scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see an option that says “Close my account”. Click on it.

Step 5: Confirmation

• Finally, you will receive a prompt to confirm the deletion process. This action is irreversible, hence, take a moment to ensure you want to proceed.

Important Considerations Before Deleting Your Account

Before you decide to delete your account, it’s important to remember a few things:

• Reversibility: As mentioned above, deleting your account is a permanent action. You will not be able to recover your account or any associated data in future.
• Client Relationships: Ensure you have completed all your existing projects or communicated appropriately with your clients about your decision.
• Payments: Make sure you have withdrawn all your earnings from Upwork as you will not be able to access them once the account is deleted.
