Connects are virtual tokens that are used on Upwork platform to submit proposals for jobs. As a freelancer, you require these tokens to show your interest in a project posted by a client.

Why are Connects Important?

Connects allow you to apply for jobs on Upwork. Without them, you won’t be able to submit proposals. Connects essentially ensure that only serious freelancers apply for jobs, which benefits both clients and freelancers.

How Do You Obtain Connects?

You automatically get a certain number of free Connects each month based on your membership plan. You may also purchase additional Connects at any time.

Pricing and Plans

• Basic Membership: You’ll get 10 free Connects each month. Need more? You can buy them at $0.15 each.
• Plus Membership: This costs $14.99 per month but you can get 80 Connects. Extra Connects are also available at $0.15 each.

How Many Connects Does it Take to Apply for a Job?

The number of Connects required for a job proposal varies, depending on the nature and the scope of the job. Usually, it takes between 1 and 6 Connects to apply for a job.

Note: Ensure you make good use of your Connects by applying for jobs you are confident you could excel at. Carelessly utilizing Connects can exhaust them quickly.

Recycling of Connects

Remember, unused Connects do not carry over to the next month. However, with the monthly refresh in your membership, you’ll receive your new set of Connects.
