Duration of Money Transfer

In general, it takes about 5 days for money to be transferred from Upwork to a freelancer’s account. This duration, however, can vary depending on the withdrawal method you choose.

Different withdrawal methods:

• Direct to a U.S. bank (ACH): This method generally takes from 1 to 2 Business Days.
• Direct to a foreign bank (SWIFT): This method can take from 2 to 5 Business Days.
• PayPal: The transfer happens instantly, but PayPal might take their own processing time.
• Payoneer: It takes approximately 2 days.

Please Note:

Keep in mind the waiting period known as ‘Security Period’ on Upwork. After a contract’s completion, you need to wait for another 5 days before funds will be available to withdraw. This is simply Upwork’s protocol to ensure secure and successful transactions. Lastly, the timelines provided above are an estimate and actual transfer times may slightly vary. You will be receiving email updates from Upwork regarding the withdrawal status and completion.
