Setting Your Hourly Rate on Upwork

Firstly, you don’t set your hourly rate in a specific job post, but rather on your profile, which then applies to all of your proposals. Here’s how you can set your hourly rate in your Upwork profile:

Steps to Set Your Hourly Rate

1. Log in to your Upwork account.
2. Go to the Find Work section and click Profile.
3. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) in the Hourly Rate section.
4. Enter your desired hourly rate.
5. Finally, click Save.

Please remember, the rate you set is the gross rate you wish to receive before the Upwork service fees.

Upwork Service Fees

For every contract, Upwork charges a service fee. Here’s how it works:

• For the first $500 billed with the client, the fee is 20%.
• For lifetime billings with the client between $500.01 and $10,000, the fee is 10%.
• For lifetime billings with the client that exceed $10,000, the fee is 5%.
